I guess you could say that I am embarking on a bit of a health journey. I used to be a health and fitness junkie, but over the past couple of years of going through nursing school I fell way off of the wagon. And it has been catching up to me!
I had a bit of wake-up call last weekend. I had worked Thursday night, then spent Friday and Saturday at a horse show in the Texas heat. I powered through, and had a wonderful time, but come Sunday… I woke up with the worst migraine I have had in a long time, and basically could not function for the entire day. Lack of sleep, dehydration, and poor eating all contributed. And that has basically been my routine for the past couple of years. The thing is though that if we never slow down and take care of ourselves, our bodies will force us to.
So, I decided to start fresh and get serious about taking care of myself. Monday, I made myself a little meal plan and stocked up on lots of healthy things from Trader Joe’s.
I have been cooking myself at least two meals a day all week so far. I ate out one night for dinner, and my mom made dinner another night. But breakfasts and lunches have been homemade, and healthy! I have also walk (and sort of ran) each day so far! And I am spending as much time outside as I can, between the barn and just sitting on the porch instead of in front of the TV.

It isn’t a lot, but it is definitely a step in the right direction. Life is too precious to feel bad all the time for. I would love to know, what are you doing for your health right now? Comment below!
